Lived with Page Fletcher in the Beaches area of Toronto. They met in Halifax while performing at the Neptune Theatre.
Parents Paul (professor) and Janice (High school Teacher) moved to Canada in 1968 - first to Regina, Saskatchewan and then Truro, Nova Scotia.
Ran in the June, 2009 Nova Scotia provincial election in the riding of Truro/Bible Hill as a member of the New Democratic Party of Nova Scotia. She was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) for that riding on June 9, 2009.
