Country singer and reality TV star Julianne Hough has won the chance to dance with Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford in the Footloose remake.


Julianne Hough's rep tells "The Insider" the "DWTS" pro will star opposite Chace Crawford in 'Footloose' if her schedule permits. The highly anticipated remake of the 1984 dance-flick will be directed by 'High School Musical' director Kenny Ortega, and is expected to begin filming in March 2010. The original film starred Kevin Bacon as a big-city kid who moves to a small town where dancing is banned.

Country music's finest were out in force Tuesday night for the Country Music Television Awards in Nashville, and several "Dancing with the Stars" competitors joined them. Julianne Hough, whose song, "That Song in My Head," was nominated for the USA Weekend Breakthrough Music Video of the Year award, wore a fun pink frock, while "Dancing" champs Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas also walked the red carpet.

Race car driver Helio Castroneves won the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. "This is incredible," the champ said after winning. "I think my tears speak for everything. What a great team. I just have to thank, first of all, the Lord for giving me this opportunity, to be strong, to have a family that I have. I have to think Roger [Penske], Tim [Cindric], my guys, Phillip Morris, all the associates (sponsors), Verizon, everybody because they gave my life back. I'm here today because of those guys. And obviously the fans." Helio continued, "You guys don't understand. You guys kept me strong. You guys are the best. I'm honored to have fans like you. Thank you so much. Let's celebrate now!" "What a day! This place is magical. ... This is the best month of May ever. Wow. Three. I can't believe it," Helio said in closing. It was the third Indy win for Helio, who also won the race in 2001 and 2002. The Brazilian driver showed off his fancy footwork on the fifth season of "Dancing with the Stars" with his partner Julianne Hough, winning that championship as well.

Country singer Chuck Wicks and his pro partner, girlfriend Julianne Hough, were banished from the ballroom Tuesday night on “DWTS.” “This has been fantastic,” Chuck said of their run. “In the last three weeks we’ve gotten standing ovations from the crowd.” He also complimented fellow competitor Melissa Rycroft, who announced that she’s begun a new treatment to heal her broken ribs. Chuck added, too, that he and Julianne were still close after enduring the rigors of the competition together. “To all the critics who thought we [wouldn’t] last through this, we did it. We’re still on top of things,” he proclaimed. Also on the results show, Grammy winning singer/songwriter Robin Thicke performed.

"The ballroom proposal will not happen," Chuck assures "The Insider". "Of course I want to, I just don't want to do it on 'Dancing with the Stars.'" Award-winning country star Julianne Hough is ditching her day job as a professional on TV talent show Dancing With The Stars so she can concentrate on her singing career.


Fresh from her Academy of Country Music Awards' win for Top New Artist, Dancing With the Stars' Julianne Hough tells E! News that it's been hard juggling her two careers. We caught up with her backstage at Dancing's elimination show tonight (bye bye David Alan Grier) and this is what she spilled about her career plans...

"I wasn't supposed to come back this season, but then [boyfriend Chuck Wicks] got on the show," she explains. "I'm going to take the next one off. It's hard for us to keep going and going and going and then of course with two different things you're trying to do you get exhausted and overworked."

"Dancing with the Stars" pro Julianne Hough is already feeling the pain in rehearsals with boyfriend Chuck Wicks. "Today it was a great day," she writes on her mySpace blog. "We totally fell on our butts." Although she says watching the country hunk try his hand at dancing is "hilarious," she adds that "he is actually doing very well ... I was really surprised!" Still, the two face a few unique obstacles while they tour. "It has been a little challenging trying to find studios that have mirrors and wood floors on the road," she says. Additionally, she admits to going a little stir crazy! "All week I've been on the road with Chuck practicing and then going to his shows," she says. "I've been a getting a little antsy because I haven't had a show, plus I'm on a bus with even more guys than are on my bus, so I'm going a little coo coo [sic]!! My highlight of today was going to Walgreens and getting a bunch of makeup and girly stuff like that just to feel like a girl again."
