Inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame, 2004.
On 2 August 1996 at the Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, she competed in the long-jump finals with an injured right leg and won a bronze medal. Her "One Last Jump" was ranked #19 in TV Guide's list of the "25 Most Awesome Sports Moments (of the last 15 years)". [17 July 2005 issue]
