Her daughter, Audrey, was born in October 2001. She also has a step-daughter, Hollie - her partner's daughter from a previous relationship - who was born in 1991.
Her surname, Karvan, comes from her step-father who is Greek. His original name was Karvaniardos, but he changed it to Karvan upon migrating to Australia. Immigrants were treated poorly and so often changed their names in order to disguise their origins.
She champions many human rights issues in Australia, and has been a patron of A Just Australia - a campaign for refugee programs - since September 2002. She has spoken publicly to challenge the Australian government's line on asylum seekers.
Claudia lived in Bali, with her mother and brothers, for a year when she was 8.
Gave birth to her son, her second child with partner Jeremy Sparks, on May 18th, 2006. The baby weighed in at 8 lbs, 7 oz and was named Albee.
