Alessandra Mussolini was elected to the Camera dei Deputati (Chamber of Deputies) as a representative of the right-wing Alleanza Nazionale party in Naples. [1992]
She graduated from university in 1992, specializing in surgery.
She ran for Mayor of Naples but lost out to Antonio Bassolino.
She is the daughter of Italian jazz pianist Romano Mussolini and actress Maria Scicolone. Her grandfather was the fascist dictator of Italy, Benito Mussolini, who died before she was born. Her mother is the sister of actress Sophia Loren. She was also the niece of Edda Mussolini, Vittorio Mussolini and Bruno Mussolini and the niece by marriage of Galeazzo Ciano.
