The casting continues for Star Trek and this time it is Winona Ryder being beamed aboard. What role could Ryder possibly be playing? An important one, no doubt. That's right folks, Spock's mom is a shoplifter. I'm having a hard time picturing what Ryder would look like with pointed ears and eyebrows, but she will be playing the Vulcan mother to a young Spock played by Zachary Quinto. Since the two actors are only six years apart in age, Zachary is either going to have to drop the maturity or in comes the wrinkle-causing makeup for Ryder. Ryder joins a cast that includes Chris Pine as James T. Kirk, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Karl Urban as Dr. McCoy, Eric Bana as Nero, Bruce Greenwood as Christopher Pike and both Quinto and Nimoy as Spock.
