Helmut Dietl for nine years in the 1990s.

Rejected by drama school, so she studied Theatre in Munich and took private acting lessons. She ended up being one of the highest-paid actresses in Germany these days

Was in a coma for ten days due to meningitis and encephalitis in 1999. She had to learn to speak again after this (according to interviews). Her management told the press that she just had a food poisoning.

Replaced the "k" in her name with a "c" at the age of 15 because she thought that it would be easier for Americans to pronounce 'Veronica' once she'd be working in Hollywood.
