New mother Tori Spelling is mourning the death of her beloved pet dog Mimi LaRue, just a week after she welcomed new baby daughter Stella into the world. The pooch died from natural causes on Tuesday, aged 11.

"People everywhere knew her by name. I loved when fans wanted her over me. I felt proud!"  When Mimi died she was surrounded by family members including Spelling's husband Dean McDermott,  their one-year-old son Liam and newborn baby girl Stella, People reports.    Spelling said her dog had suffered from medical problems relating to her hips and neck for years. "I'm convinced she waited around to make sure I had the daughter I always dreamt about before she left us."

According to People.com, Mimi LaRue died at home surrounded by her family, including Spelling's husband Dean McDermott, 41, son Liam, 1, and newborn daughter Stella, who is only 10 days old.
