Played Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz as a junior at her high school. Was nominated for Broadway's 2003 Tony Award as Best Actress (Featured Role - Musical) for her performance as Gypsy Rose Lee in a revival of "Gypsy." Has a knack for portraying famous women. She won an Emmy Award for playing Judy Garland on television and was nominated for a Tony Award for playing Gypsy Rose Lee on stage. Before they were more famous, Blanchard acted opposite Taye Diggs ("Rent"), Cynthia Watros ("Lost") and Bethany Joy Lenz ("One Tree Hill") on the daytime serial "Guiding Light." Won a 2003 Theatre World Award for her role in "Gypsy."
