Hobbies include painting and photography. First got involved with acting when her mother, who believed Sarah to be shy, put her into musical theater. Took part in the Zeke Lerner Celebrity Bowl-A-Thon (an event benefitting the families of those suffering from spinal muscular atrophy) in 2004 and 2005.
