Rosie O'Donnell's highly anticipated new book, Celebrity Detox, doesn't hit stores until October 9, but "The Insider" has obtained a copy of the controversial tell-all and there are revelations on every page! Among the hot topics that Rosie delves into is her painful childhood secret. She writes that as a child, she used to break her own limbs with "a baseball bat" or a "wooden hanger." On page 186, it reads: "My hands and fingers usually. No one knew. My secret." Why? "Proof," she writes, "that I had some value, enough to be fixed." And later, Rosie cryptically adds, "There were many benefits to having a cast. In the middle of the night, it was a weapon." As for her turbulent stint on "The View," Rosie describes a backstage shouting match where she claims to have repeatedly called Barbara Walters a "liar" for not defending her during her much-publicized showdown with Donald Trump. She also describes Barbara's "tiredness." Last May, Rosie exited "The View" three weeks earlier than her planned departure, just days after she and conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck got into a heated on-air dispute regarding the war in Iraq that, at times, turned personal. On Elisabeth, Rosie writes: "Elisabeth, antiabortion, pro Bush, pro war, believes in everything I don't, and I believe in everything she doesn't. She's as slender as I am fat, as restrained as I am vociferous, as polite as I am frank," adding, "Right from the start I could see in this slip of a girl so different from me, I could see something fierce, a fist in the frill, and I liked that. But we had no language in common." As for Donald Trump, Rosie reportedly lets loose on the mogul, calling him a "torn scarecrow" and "a garden slug." Regarding Rosie's name calling, Donald fired back, telling "The Insider" that her book is simply "garbage." But Rosie isn't looking to cash in with her not-so-celebrity friendly tome -- all proceeds will go to charity.
