Rain suffered from drug abuse for many years, but got herself clean in 1993. She has since acted as an addiction counselor and spoke at high schools about her past battles with drugs and alcohol addiction. Just finished a highly successful four month run of her one-woman experience, "Fried Chicken & Latkes," at the Canon Theater in Beverly Hills, California--to standing ovations every night! She wrote, created, and co-produced her show, including adding some of her own original music and lyrics to the production. [2004] Was in rehearsals for her one-woman experience, said to open in New York by fall 2004. The show is based on the life of the actress. It's a hero's journey from the standpoint of a person born into a world of "US vs. Them"--but not quite an "us" and not quite a "them." Her maternal grandfather, Herbert Bonis, was Danny Kaye's manager for 35 years. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School in 1987. Daughter Lotus Marie was born on April 1, 2008.
