She competed in the first season of the new "Star Search" (1983), hosted by Arsenio Hall, in the Young Singers category. She lost in a preliminary round.

Her Father is a Quechua-Huachipaeri, an native South American from Madre de Dios, Peru. Her mother is a Swiss national who grew up in Alaska.

Speaks German.

Younger brother Kainoa had a bit part in The New World (2005).

Her grandfather, Ray "Pirate" Genet, was an Alaskan mountain-rescue and climbing legend who died in 1979 while making his descent from the summit of Mt. Everest.

Won the National Board of Review's best breakthrough performance in 2006 and was the Winner of the 2006 Alma Award for Outstanding Actress in a feature Film for The New World.

Qorianka is a global youth ambassador for Amnesty International, and Amazon Watch and is the Founder of on-Q Initiative, a Enviromental and Human Rights youth organization. In September 2006 she became the celebrity teen spokesperson for Thursday's Child, an international charity for children that are anorexic, bulimic, suicidal, runaways, abused, exploited, missing or have problems with drugs, teen pregnancy or STDs.

She is the world's first teenager driving a Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered car with pure water steam emissions.

Speaks fluent German, Spanish and English.

An accomplished Blackbelt Wushu Kung Fu and Stunt performer and has trained at the National Wushu Training Center and Impact Stunts since the age of 12.
