Born in Oklahoma City in October 1942, gorgeous Pamela Tiffin grew up in Chicago, where she began a modeling career while in her early teens. She moved to New York to model and attend college, but she became so successful in her modeling career that college soon took a back seat. On a trip to California, Tiffin met producer Hal B. Wallis (husband of actress Martha Hyer) who was so impressed with the beuatiful teenager that he cast her in the Tennessee Williams drama Summer and Smoke. Tiffin's sterling debut performance netted her nominations for two Golden Globe awards (in the Best Supporting Actress and Most Promising Female Newcomer categories) in early 1962. Later that year, Tiffin married magazine mogul Clay Felker. Knockout Pamela Tiffin posed for a number of cheesecake shots in the 1960s. Legendary director Billy Wilder was taken with Tiffin's comedic skills and cast her in the Coca-Cola themed One, Two, Three with James Cagney and Arlene Francis. Afterward, Tiffin would make a number of light-hearted romantic comedies including The Pleasure Seekers with Ann-Margret and Carol Lynley and For Those Who Think Young with James Darren and Tina Louise and Harper starring Paul Newman. With her marriage failing, she went to Italy in the mid 1960s to star in a number of sexy comedies including Torture Me But Kill Me with Kisses with Nino Manfredi and Ugo Tognazzi directed by Dino Risi. In 1974 Tiffin remarried, and she retired from the screen to raise a family and pursue other interests. Today she lives in New York with husband Edmondo Danon and her two daughters.
Her daughters are named Echo and Aurora. Pamela father, Stanley Wonso, was an architect. Attended Hunter College while modeling and soon became one of New York City's top models, even making the cover of Vogue magazine. Named "Star of Tomorrow" in 1962 by the Motion Picture Herald, a trade paper for theater owners. In 1966 she won a Theatre World Award for "Most Promising Newcomer" for her Broadway role in "Dinner at Eight." The February 1969 issue of Playboy Magazine did a feature on her entitled "A Toast to Tiffin," showing tastefully nude photos of her with long and flowing golden hair. The photos concealed her nakedness with flowers, fabrics and strategically-placed objects. Playboy offered her quite a bit of money in the ensuing years to do a full spread but she always refused. She also employed body doubles to do nude scenes for her in movies.
