When I decided I was ready, I looked into some different weight loss programs and I ended up at Jenny Craig -- which worked wonderful for me -- I lost a total of 45 pounds. Matter of fact, last time I saw Mo'Nique, she said "Come on back, the big girls need you." I said, "No they don't. They got you, I'm good."

Beautiful! I am proud of you. My pride extends beyond the weightloss, it extends to the comment made to Mo'nique. Peer pressure is a major problem, even with adults. Good for you, honey, standing your ground.

"Staying Real" is another crippling peer pressure anthem for African Americans. Staying real is getting healthy, continuing to work, and building better families that understand the only goal is higher education.

Staying real is helping each other up and not pulling down those that have made it.
