Natalie Portman has reportedly joined the cast of Relativity Media's upcoming production "Brothers." The "Closer" actress will star alongside Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal on the project to be helmed by six time Oscar nominee director Jim Sheridan. The story of the film revolves around two brothers torn between war and love. Maguire stars as a soldier who's sent to Afghanistan as his deadbeat brother, to be played by Gyllenhaal, stays at home with his sibling's family. The film is based on the 2004 Danish-language film directed by Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen. According to Variety.com, Portman will play Maguire's wife. That role was originally played by Danish actress Connie Nielsen, which won her the 2005 Bodil Award for Best Leading Actress.
