Why is she special?
This accomplished Australian beauty turns heads wherever she goes. With her stunning Aussie good looks and a host of accomplishments as an actress in her native country, Miranda Otto gives us good reason to keep showing up at the theaters. Some of her more acclaimed roles include those in Human Nature (2001) and What Lies Beneath (2000). There's no denying that she can roast her shrimp on our bar-b any day of the week.

Why we know her?
One word: Tolkien. Back in 2002-2003, she made every man want to fetch his horse and rescue her from evil when she portrayed the captivating and heroic Eowyn in the mega-blockbuster films: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2003). We will ever be grateful to Peter Jackson for casting Miranda as the Shieldmaiden of Rohan in Tolkien's epic tale. We'll also never forget how she sumptuously filled out her breast-plate and medieval armor as she headed to battle, bouncing up and down on her stallion all the way.
