Though she’s recently started taking on roles of a distinctly authoritarian nature, Ming-Na’s sultriness has been apparent from the early days of her career. One of her first major roles was in 1997’s One Night Stand, in which she played the hot-to-trot wife of Wesley Snipes’ character. Her indelible performance remains seared in our consciousness, and it’s consequently difficult to even look at Ming-Na without recalling that brave performance. Following a breakout role in 1993’s The Joy Luck Club, Ming-Na has appeared in a host of mainstream projects from TV shows like ER and Vanished, to movies such as One Night Stand (1997) and Mulan (1998), to the video game Kingdom Hearts II.
