Dark-haired, green-eyed Lisa was born on April 4, 1972, in Toronto, Canada, to an East Indian father and Polish mother. She wanted to pursue a career in journalism and as a novelist. She subsequently re-located to attend drama school in Britain.

While on a visit to India she was photographed by Maureen Wadia for Gladrags magazine. This paved her way to more modeling assignments with Sprite, Maze, Monte Carlo, Garden & Campaigns, just to name a few. She was the brand ambassador for Lakme Cosmetics and Radio Watches. When rumors spread of her having an affair with Sanjay Dutt, she left India to go back home to Canada, but did not break up with her boyfriend, Sanjay Narang.

She did subsequently return to India, signed up for 'Kasoor' in 2001, then a movie in Telegu (Takkan), and then in two of Deepa Mehta's movies, 'Bollywood/Hollywood' and 'Water' - which shot her instantly to fame. She received an Award 'Star of the Future' from the Toronto Film Festival for her role in 'Bollywood/Hollywood'.

She speaks Hindi with a heavy accent, as a result her voice was dubbed in 'Water'. She likes to eat rice, Roti and healthy food which help her to lose carbohydrates, and gain energy. She hosts the show 'BPL Oye' on Channel [V], 'Beauty Mantra' on Zee TV, has appeared in a music video, and was temporarily located in Los Angeles to star in a number English language movies.

She has written articles for Cosmopolitan, the Indian Express, and Times of India, and wants to be based in Paris where she intends to hold a career as a novelist and journalist.
