Actress Lindsay Lohan has become the center of a political tug-of-war between presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama. Obama reportedly rejected an offer from Lohan -- who, by her own admission, is a reformed drug and alcohol addict -- to host a campaign fundraiser in an effort to rally support for his candidacy among young voters. A source tells the Chicago-Sun Times the Democrat's camp declined Lohan's offer because she "is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us." McCain has challenged his opponent's judgment, with a spokesperson telling celebrity Web site TMZ.com: "So let me get this straight -- they turned away Lindsay Lohan, but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and convicted felon Tony Rezko?
