Great-niece of screenwriter Zoe Akins. Best known for her role as Jackie Harris on Roseanne. Metcalf is a founding ensemble member of the famous Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago. Her ex-husband, Jeff Perry, was one of the three founders of the troupe. Daughter, Zoe Perry (with Jeff Perry), was born in 1984. Son, Will Theron Metcalf (with Matt Roth), was born on November 20, 1993. Received her BA in Theatre from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois in 1976. Graduate of Edwardsville High School.
