At first it seemed like being the leading lady of a number one franchise would be too much for Kristen Stewart to handle. On her first round of press for Twilight, she appeared intensely nervous. She was photographed smoking a bong and later incurred the wrath of Twihards with some poor choice of words.


Robert Pattinson shares some bizarre stories he has from 'Twilight' press tours with David Letterman, offers his guide to biting people and answers questions as to whether he is in fact dating his onscreen lover Kristen Stewart. Just two days before the theater release of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' on Friday, Nov. 20, Pattinson appeared on the "Late Show" and talked about his chaotic fan base that is out to be bitten by the vampire heartthrob. Pattinson said that one female fan asked him to bite her small child. "Somehow I ended up biting the baby on the head and there was a photo of it afterward," the actor jokes. Pattinson explains to Letterman his decision process when biting a fan, saying, "Depends on your mood and depends on what you want to get out of it. ... There are variations of biting." Letterman attempts to confirm with the actor that he is dating his costar Stewart but Pattinson reacts, "I've been so cryptically avoiding this question throughout the entire press tour." Letterman jokingly responds, "Oh, bite me."

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The "Twilight" series may have changed the lives of fans worldwide, but perhaps no one has been more affected by its success than the three stars of the film: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.


As daytime turned to twilight in Los Angeles, fans littered the streets to catch a glimpse of their worshipped vampires and werewolves. "The Insider"'s Chris Jacobs spoke to the stars of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' to get their reaction to the fan's reception of their rise to super stardom. Robert Pattinson, who attracts tens of thousands of fans wherever he goes, said of all the attention, "It makes you feel like you're doing the right thing." He told Chris fans follow his personal life as well because "they want anything to do with 'Twilight.' People have such an...appetite for it." Relishing in the spotlight, Kristen Stewart reacted to why fans are so keen on her private life, saying, "It's hard for them to tell the difference between us and our characters, which is sort of the ultimate compliment if that is why they're so interested." The toned Taylor Lautner admitted that "it made me blush" when Taylor Swift gave him a shout out in her "Saturday Night Live" monologue. Thankful for the dedicated fans, Taylor said, "We're just doing what we love to do...and all these people are here making our dreams come true." Of stepping into such a media spectacle and fan frenzy, Kellan Lutz said, "They give us presents. We should be giving them presents because they allow us to work and continue on with this amazing project." This vampire craze has taken off because "They're sexy. They're mysterious," he said. Teen, tweens, and teeny-boppers are not alone in their enjoyment of the 'Twilight' series. Stars such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Kennedy, Ryan Seacrest, Emma Roberts, Jennie Garth, Joan Jett, Richie Sambora, and the newly single Julianne Hough twinkled on the red carpet as well. Julianne, who shamelessly admitted that she is on "Team Edward because he;s mysterious and sexy," jokingly added, "I think Rob should just come and take me away." Take a bite out of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' when it hits theaters on Friday, November 20.

Kristen Stewart insists she isn't dating her 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson.

The 19-year-old actress - who plays Robert's character's lover in the first movie in the series - understands why fans would want them to date in real-life but a there is a difference between fiction and reality.
'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' director Chris Weitz sits down with "The Insider" to tell all about his experience making the film, and also shed light on a bond between Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson. He tells "The Insider" that after Stewart and Pattinson's fame exploded following 2008's 'Twilight,' they perhaps understand each other. "I think that they're the only two who know what it's like to go through what they're going through as people right now, to be at the receiving end of that much attention," he says, continuing, "And their characters in the movie are the only two who know what's going on, the rest of the world is kind of unaware of this forbidden romance between human and a vampire, so I suppose there's kind of an analogy there, where there's a conspiracy, you know, going on." Weitz was brought in to direct 'New Moon' after Catherine Hardwicke had directed 'Twilight,' the first film in the franchise, and tells "The Insider" about how he first approached the established cast. "I had to do it with a bit of humility," he says, "Because you know, I hadn't assembled them, they were already there, and so my sort of first job was to listen to them, see how they felt about their characters, how they felt about the book, and to kind of get into a dialogue with them." He continues, "So I never see it as, you know ordering people around, or telling them how to do things. I just sort of trust that these guys know their characters better than I do and just try to give them the space to do their thing." While Weitz didn't cast the characters for the first 'Twilight' film, he was able to cast several for 'New Moon' who will continue in the franchise, including Dakota Fanning, who plays an evil vampire. "I think she is an extraordinary actor and if anyone was going to infuse it with tremendous amount of life, it was gonna be her," he explains. "And it was, I think, fun for her because she's always playing very sweet characters and this is the most evil, sadistic, powerful character in the movie in a way." 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' premieres Friday, November 20.
