Arthur Miller's Broadway play All My Sons, starring Katie Holmes, is set to begin previews September 18th.  The play, produced by Eric Falkenstein and Simon McBurney, will hold its official opening October 16th at New York's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Also starring in the production are John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson. All My Sons won the Tony Award in 1947 and ran for 328 performances on Broadway. Miller took his inspiration from a true story about a successful business man who knowingly sold the government defective airplane parts during World War II with tragic consequences.

Katie Holmes has been given a handful advice from peers Kristen Chenoweth and Brooke Shields as she prepares to make her Broadway debut.


In the midst of celebrating the Tony Awards Sunday night, several stars took time out to discuss Katie Holmes' Broadway debut in the fall. The actress will star in the revival of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons."

Holmes will make the jump from the big screen to the stage, and her friends are confident she will do just fine. Brooke Shields, who is a friend of the actress, said she believes Holmes will be happy about making the decision to try Broadway. Shields, who starred as Roxie Hart in "Chicago" in 2005, compared Broadway to the Olympics. She added that it is the college of theater.
