TriviaStudied drama and music at Oral Roberts University. Threatened to sue the National Enquirer for articles printed about her children. [March 2000] Named Maryland Junior Miss at age 17. Was a high school cheerleader. Has two children: Cody Gifford (b.1990) and Cassidy Gifford (b.1993). Tried out for the part of Tiffany Welles on "Charlie's Angels" (1976) and was told she wasn't pretty enough. Shelley Hack got the part and was later replaced because she wasn't a good enough actress. Named her dog, Regis, after her famous former co-star, Regis Philbin. Releases her albums on her own label, Lamb Records. Her two most recent albums are Goodnight, Angel and Party Animals. Mrs. Gifford's father, Aaron Leon Epstein, died on November 19, 2002. He had been terminally ill for the past few years, and his illness was one of the reasons Mrs. Gifford decided to leave "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee" (1989) in 2000, after more than a decade as host.
