Niece of producer Bruce Paltrow, actress Blythe Danner and actor Harry Danner. First cousin of director Jake Paltrow and actresses Hillary Danner and Gwyneth Paltrow. Her grandfather, William Moennig, hailed from Markneukirchen, a little German town famous for musical instruments. She has said that most of her friends growing up were boys, and that she was a huge tomboy. In her words: 'I had the biggest big wheels'. She's trained in fencing, and says that if she wasn't an actress, she'd be a marine biologist or in the FBI. As a little girl, she wanted to be a doorman.
