People editors chose Hudson as their cover model for her natural beauty, pointing out the actress "doesn't owe her famous sun-kissed looks to thousands of hours logged at a spa." Hudson beat Salma Hayek, Mary J. Blige and Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's eldest daughter, Rumer Willis.
