Gia Carides has been working as an actress since age 12 in film and in theatre. She has been nomminated twice for her work, in Strictly Ballroom (Best Actress in a Supporting Role AFI Awards) and Brilliant Lies (Best Actress in a Leading Role AFI Awards).She has appeared in as many American films as Australian films, and continues to work in both countries.



Sister of Zoe Carides and Danielle Welcomed her first child with Anthony LaPaglia, a daughter named Bridget. [January 2003] She attended Chatswood High School, the same school as Mark Taylor - a well known Australian cricketer. Sister Zoe Carides played Gia's sibling in the film Brilliant Lies (1996). Once worked at a child-care center in Lane Cove, Sydney. Gia has 2 sisters Zoe (also an actor) and Danielle.
