Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres has given her fiancée Portia De Rossi with a pink diamond ring as an early wedding present.


The wedding date is set for couple Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. The talk show host has given her girlfriend a ring to mark their engagement.

The 50-year-old Outstanding Talk Show Host of the Daytime Emmy told reporters outside the awards show, "Yes, we have set a wedding date."

Daytime Emmy winner Ellen DeGeneres has more than one reason to celebrate! Backstage at the awards show the talk quickly turned to her upcoming wedding to longtime love Portia de Rossi, as Ellen revealed they had set a wedding date and were in the midst of planning one "huge" event.  How does she feel about the ability to legally wed now? "I feel obviously like it's long overdue and I think some day people will look back at this like women not having the right to vote or segregation and everything else that seems ridiculous that we don't have the same rights and aren't all the same people." On a lighter note, Ellen added that planning her big day was "crazy and stressful. I am inviting people. My gardener is now invited ... it is huge!"
