Elise Neal was born in Memphis, Tennessee and began dancing at age six. She contributes her success to her mother, Arletha Neal, who always supported her and drove her to numerous talent shows and recitals. After moving to New York and quickly booking many Off Broadway shows and musical revivals, she thought Broadway would be her winning ticket. But she moved to LA to give acting a 'try.' She attended The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Voted Homecoming Queen in high school. Graduated from Overton High School of Memphis, Tennessee (Class of '84) She was an accomplished dancer before turning to acting. Attended the summer program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts - West. Produces a R & B female group called "Assorted Flavors" Born in Memphis where Oscar-winning film (best song) Hustle and Flow was shot and in which she also starred. Has a dog named Rusty Was once engaged to film director F. Gary Gray. Played a teen in the TV movie "Daddy's Girl" when she was 30.
