Studied Writing and European History at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY. Her father, Eberhard, was a German corporate attorney. Her mother, Lisa, once wrote for the soap, "The Guiding Light" (1952). The two divorced when Elisabeth was 8 or 9. She made Maxim magazine's "Hot 100" list in 2002, voted one of the most watchable women in entertainment. Has dual citizenship (USA and Germany). Lived in New York City while filming "Law & Order" (1990), but now lives in Los Angeles part-time, in search of more acting jobs. Raised by a hippie mother who prided herself on being "au naturel". Does serious full-body workouts with free weights, boxing, Olympic lifts, carrying and pulling heavy weights across the room. Fluent in German. Engaged to director Austin Smithard in 2000. Gave birth to a girl, Easton August Anthony, on April 10, 2008 in Los Angeles.
