Member of Broadcast Magazine Hall of Fame. Member of Television Academy of Fame. Began her broadcasting career as a reporter at WLKY-TV in Louisville, Kentucky. Graduated from Wellesley College in 1967, and finished a semester of law school before deciding on journalism. 1963 America's Junior Miss, 1963 Kentucky's Junior Miss. TV newswoman. Was the first female co-anchor of TV's 60 Minutes. Born at 8:00am-CST Worked as a former Nixon White House press aide; followed Nixon into exile after his resignation to help him write his memoirs. Was rumored to be Watergate's infamous "Deep Throat" (she's repeatedly denied it). On the list of activities she wrote down for her first pageant win she mentioned that she enjoyed "tennis, basketball, being a Young Republican and, when time permits, knitting".
