Her father was a professional baseball player with the St. Louis Browns. Has 2 daughters: Katie and Kellie She was the co-host of Jack LaLanne's show during the early 1980s. Her mother died in 2001, her father is 82 [2007]. She has a dog named Madonna. She is serving her second term on the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, a position she was first appointed to by George W. Bush in 2002. Started gymnastics at the age of 12 and earned an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Arizona. In 1979, she graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education, with an emphasis on exercise physiology.
