Earned master's degree in marine biology before becoming a model, actress, and, ultimately, scream queen. Double-majored in biology and psychology at San Diego State University. Studied seven foreign languages. Received her masters degree in marine biology from Scripps Institue of Oceanography in La Jolla, California in 1977. Appeared in 2001 and 2002 at the Horrorfind convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Did very well at her first audition for The Slumber Party Massacre, and director Amy Holden Jones wanted to cast her in one of the lead roles. However, Brinke had to fly up to Lake Tahoe for a modeling assignment during the middle of their shooting schedule and had to accept a lesser part.
