Ashlee Simpson doesn't want any of her fans, which only include Papa Joe and sister Jessica Simpson, to know that she's a smoker. According to The New York Daily News:

Ashlee Simpson begged a photog not to take her picture last week during a cigarette break outside boyfriend Pete Wentz's East Village bar, Angels and Kings. "I don't want my fans knowing I smoke! It's so bad, but I just crave nicotine sometimes."

Her "fans" know so much about her already as it is: sex in public bathrooms, plastic surgery addiction, lip-syncing, why be ashamed of smoking?  What a silly girl.
