Professionally known as Eddie Benton from 1977 (when she was a series regular as Nurse Koscinski on the short-lived "Rafferty" (1977)) to 1980.

Her mother, Sylvia Martin, had a small role in Prom Night (1980).

David Rasche, her co-star on "Sledge Hammer!" (1986), described Martin as a "great kisser".

Martin's divorce settlement from Michael Crichton was 31 million dollars, all tax-free. She was also awarded various fine art including the Roy Lichtenstein sculpture "Day and Night", the Rene Magritte painting "L'Usage de la Parole", the Claes Oldenburd lithograph "Twirling Fork And Meatball" and the Robert Rauschenberg painting "Nest Egg" as well as a Jasper Johns monoprint and a lithograph.
