Angell was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina and moved to Columbia, South Carolina at the age of 2. Angell was a model and local commercial actress prior to moving to Los Angeles in 1994 to film the TV pilot "On Our Our" which also starred Salt & Pepa. Since that time she has been a series regular on CBS "Dave's World" and has guest starred on other television show.
Angell played the daughter of female rap star "Pepa" (Sandi Denton) in her first television pilot - "On Our Own" aka "On Our Way". Angell played Omar Gooding's girlfriend in the film Baby Boy. A romance developed and she's been his off-screen girlfriend for the past two years. While attending Middle School she would get up at 4:30am once a week to go help serve breakfast at a local Shelter. She and her boyfriend Omar Gooding have a Pit Bull named Xeena. They both love pets. Was the first African American student body president at her elementary school (Seven Oaks Elementary) in Columbia, South Carolina.
