Hi,

I was treated by my daughter to a night out on Broadway to  see the play Blythe Spirit starring the wonderful Angela Lansbury.  We were settled in to our seats and this lovely lady next to us started talking to me and said she noticed my Irish accent.  We got talking and of course her being from Boston she had Irish blood and very proud of it she was too.

This lady was called Maureen O'Mara Treacy and it turned out she was actually a fan of Angela Lansbury and had met her the last time she was in New York.  I told her we were from near Belfast in Northern Ireland and I also thought Angela's father or grandfather had something to do with the Grand Opera House there many years ago. 

Being a fan of the theatre I have of course seen manys a performance in the Opera House and it is still as beautiful today as I am sure it was all those years ago. 

Anyway my daughter Rosie and I enjoyed the night on Broadway very much and it was a delight to see Angela on stage ( I am a big fan of Murder She Wrote) and I do hope she gets to bring it back to London to honour her mother's memory.  It would be truly wonderful.  Just a little snippet to end, my oldest daughter is named Angela, I cannot think of a better person to hold up to her as an example than Angela Lansbury.  A true lady and a true professional.
