She had never acted in a play or movie when as a joke she went to a mass audition for the movie To Die For (1995) with some friends. Assuming she didn't get a part, she and her family took a vacation in the Bahamas. The casting directors of "To Die For" had trouble reaching her but, in the end, she landed the part that started her career.
Attended high school at BB&N, a private school in the Boston area. She graduated in 1997.
