Alana Stewart is opening up in her new book about her late best friend Farrah Fawcett's cancer battle, and she's also ing on affair rumors. Alana is "shocked" by rumors that she had an "inappropriate relationship" with Farrah's longtime companion Ryan O'Neal during Farrah's final days. "[Ryan's son Griffin O'Neal] made allegations that Ryan and I may have had some sort of inappropriate relationship while Farrah was dying. ... I'm sorry, it's despicable for anyone to say that. I'm shocked that anyone could really even think that." She also clears up reports that Ryan was only with Farrah for her money, saying, "They were together over 30 years and, frankly, Ryan always had a lot more money than Farrah. ... I feel like I have to set the record straight -- he was very generous with Farrah. He always was." A portion of the proceeds from Alana's book about Farrah, which is called "My Journey With Farrah," will go to the Farrah Fawcett Foundation to support cancer research. "This is such a bittersweet acknowledgment for 'Farrah's Story,' because Farrah's not here to share it with us, but I know how honored she would have been to receive this nomination," Stewart says in a statement to ET. "When Farrah decided to share her battle with cancer with the world it was with the hope that she could show others struggling with the disease and their loved ones that they were not alone. I can imagine how enormously proud she is right now that the Academy has acknowledged her story in this way." O'Neal said of the honor, "For the Television Academy to recognize 'Farrah's Story' with this nomination is such a wonderful acknowledgment for Farrah and her legacy. I know that she is smiling that fabulous smile right now in heaven, and that she is grateful that the show has been so well received not only by her peers in the industry but by the public at large." "Farrah's Story" is up for an Emmy in the Outstanding Nonfiction Special category. The actress passed away on June 25 at the age of 62. She is survived by her 24-year-old son, Redmond O'Neal, and the father of Redmond, Ryan O'Neal.

Farrah Fawcett's battle with cancer continues, and just days after the debut of the TV documentary "Farrah's Story" -- in which intimate video diaries show her brave journey and shorn locks -- her close friend Alana Stewart is giving the latest update to our own Lara Spencer in an all-new interview. "She wasn't sure she wanted the camera rolling and I convinced her to let me keep it rolling because I thought it was going to be an important moment," explains Alana of the moment where Farrah revealed her bald head. "When we filmed this documentary the whole purpose was to really show people what the face of cancer was like," adds Alana. "She didn't want to put a pretty spin on it." And Alana says that although filming has basically finished because the documentary special has aired, she reveals, "I still pickup the camera. Farrah Fawcett's best friend Alana Stewart is opening up to "The Insider"'s Lara Spencer about Farrah's battle with cancer and her current health. Alana sets the record straight about Farrah's weight loss and says her friend is continuing to eat and trying to maintain her strength.   "Yeah so she is eating," she says. "Not as much as she should be or we'd like her to, but she is eating." As far as losing weight, Alana reveals that although Farrah has gotten thin she is not as frail as the tabloids have claimed. "She has lost weight, but not as much weight as has been reported -- not even close," she says. "You know the really good news is that she is in stable condition and that her spirits are good and that we're still hoping for a miracle." Alana also tells Lara about a touching promise Redmond O'Neal made to his mother about his drug use. "Well I think that's what he promised her when he saw her -- is that he wouldn't take drugs anymore," she says. "I know that is something that she really wanted to hear." Farrah's long time friend explains that during this challenging time Farrah's priority is being around her family, including her father who lives in Texas but continues to keep his daughter in good spirits. "I know she would like to be well because she'd like to spend time with her family and she'd like to go to Texas and be with her Dad," she says. "He's going to come out and see her I believe in a few weeks, and he's had some health issues of his own and so he hasn't been able to fly just yet, but he's very supportive.
