According to TMZ, Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin has become a very expensive actress as she was reportedly paid $65,000 for just five hours work.

The 15-year-old actress voices a bird character in upcoming animated movie 'Zambezia' and received the whopping fee for the short amount of voiceover work, according to website TMZ.com.

Abigail Breslin's hourly rate is $16,250 -- at least when she's doing voice work for her new animated movie "Zambezia" ... this according to her contract for the film.

TMZ has obtained 15-year-old Breslin's payment agreement with film producers -- and according to the docs, she earned a grand total of $65,000 for one 4-hour recording session ... voicing the character of Zoe, an adorable bird (right).

It's not Abigail's only massive payday this year either -- back in May she signed a one-week contract for the upcoming movie "New Year's Eve" ... worth $275,000.

'My Sister's Keeper' director Nick Cassavetes says he had no problems with casting the 12-year-old actress in his new movie because he was so impressed by her maturity.He said: The auditioning of children is an empty experience because some kids are very well prepared for auditions and aren't particularly good actors, and some are really great actors that have certain problems with auditioning. Casting children, it's harder, not because they can't talk eloquently about their part, it's that they don't have the body of work to support your absolute belief in them. With Abigail, that wasn't the case. I'd seen her work. She's a 70 year old woman in a 12 year old's body. She's so soulful and so gets it. I find myself trying to catch up to her intellectually, as opposed to dragging her along. There's something very, very special and still and knowing and nurturing about Abigail Breslin. So, when she said she wanted to play the part, I was like, 'Okay, we've got her. Good. That's my girl.'
