i just happened to see a couple of older movies Mr. D'onofrio was in and I was surprised I had not recognized the extent of his talent until now.  I've always had an appreciation for his acting ability, but the man is an absolute BRILLIANT actor.  I highly recommend The Whole Wide World based on the life of pulp fiction writer Robert E. Howard.  I ordered the book that the screenplay was based on after watching the movie several times.  Also, although I did not care for the movie The Cell, I was mesmorized by D'onofrios performance as a serial killer.  I've since been renting additional movies he's been in and now that I've taken notice, he always seems to be the best part of the movie.  I look forward to seeing anything new that he is working on and I've been encouraging friends and family to take a closer look at this guy.  My teenagers AND friends of all ages agree that he's worth it.
