Usher's father, Usher Raymond III, passed away at an Atlanta hospital on Friday, the R&B star's rep confirms to PEOPLE.   

The cause of death was not immediately known and Usher was unavailable for .   The funeral will take place Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral home chapel.   The Chattanooga Times Free Press was first to report the news.
