Nephew of sportscaster Bob Considine.
Grandson of Alex Pantages, founder of the Pantages Theaters chain.
Did a slew of work for Walt Disney as a brushcut brunet juvenile actor, first on the The Mickey Mouse Club, including _"Spin and Marty" (1955)_ (as Spin) and "The Hardy Boys" (as sleuth Frank Hardy), then remained in the Disney fold to include some of his teen movies (The Shaggy Dog). He turned to TV writing and directing after his success on the sitcom My Three Sons.
