Reuters - Oscar winning film director Steven Spielberg is to make a TV documentary on the rebuilding of New York's World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the September 11 2001 attacks.
Hollywood heavyweights Steven Spielberg and Nicole Kidman and rising star Sam Worthington join an already stellar lineup of presenters at the Golden Globes, according to the Associated Press. Worthington's blockbuster film 'Avatar' and Kidman's musical 'Nine' are nominated for awards by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The "67th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will be held on January 17 and broadcast live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton.

AP - Steven Spielberg, Nicole Kidman and "Avatar" star Sam Worthington are joining the list of celebrity presenters at the Golden Globe Awards.
Former President Bill Clinton showed Steven Spielberg brotherly love by presenting him with the Liberty Medal on Thursday in Philadelphia. Clinton praised Spielberg, saying, "We honor a man today who has always been able to make a simple story and remind us of the greatness in us all," according to the Associated Press. The esteemed filmmaker accepted this honor by saying, "Art is and should endeavor to be among the human enterprises which contribute to the building of decent and free societies." The National Constitution Center elects one recipient every year for the Liberty Medal who represents the principles the United States was founded on. Spielberg's Academy Award-winning films 'Schindler's List' and 'Saving Private Ryan' stand out as two examples of how the filmmaker represents liberty through his artistic endeavors. Whoopi Goldberg also took part in the ceremony. The Liberty Medal was founded in 1988. Accomplished figures such as Bono, Nelson Mandela, and Jimmy Carter have received this award in previous years.

The President spoke at the Beverly Hilton hotel and was very optimistic about his economic policy, and he thanked the donors and celebrities in attendance for their continued support, the Associated Press says. Spielberg, Katzenberg, and Geffen hosted a dinner party that was held for the bigger donors. Music sensation Jennifer Hudson and R&B group Earth, Wind and Fire were scheduled to perform at the event. Tickets for the fundraiser sold for $1,000 to $15,200 and aides for the Democratic National Committee tell the AP that the event will net over $3 million.
