Did Kevin Costner pull a fast one on Stephen Baldwin? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin is suing the Oscar winner for securities fraud and misrepresentation, accusing Costner of tricking him into selling his shares of joint venture OTS (Ocean Therapies Solutions), which entered into an agreement with Costner’s company CINC (Costner in Nevada Corporation). Costner's company invented a technology that separates oil from water and Baldwin claims he became a 10 percent partner in the invention in May. CINC was in talks to market the technology to BP to help with the oil spill in the Gulf. But after Baldwin and Baldwin's joint filer Spyridon Contogouris disagreed with other OTS members on aspects of the deal, they sold their shares, unaware that the company had just gotten an $18 million deposit from BP, with CINC eventually making $52 million. The lawsuit was filed in Louisiana and Baldwin is seeking $3.8 million while Contogouris is seeking $10.64 million.
