Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci and the cast of 'Julia & Julie' cooked up some fun at the New York premiere of the new movie Thursday night, and "The Insider" was there! "I think New Yorkers are going to love it, especially people from Queens," says Meryl. "Half of it takes place in New York; Julia Child loved New York," agrees Stanley, who said of working again with his 'The Devil Wears Prada' co-star, "If there is a best, she's it." Based on the bestselling memoirs Julie & Julia and My Life in France, the film intertwines the lives of two remarkable women in two different time periods: Julia Child (Streep) and her rise to prominence as the world's first female "do-it-yourself" culinary authority; and Julie Powell (Amy Adams), a lowly cubicle worker who decides to take on a writing assignment: Go through Child's cookbook and create 524 recipes in just 365 days. Directed by Nora Ephron ('Sleepless in Seattle'), 'Julie & Julia' will be served in theaters August 7.

"The Insider" sits down with Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, and Chris Messina, the stars of 'Julie & Julia,' and Streep explains what it was like to play the larger-than-life, culinary legend Julia Child. "Well you know Julia, how she looked and behaved is one thing, but her interior light was something very recognizable to me," she says. "It was something like, something that my mother really did have. So to me, to play this character, gave me a little tiny opportunity to pay my respects and homage to my mom, who is not here anymore. She had that boom. She liked to have a good time and she made everybody comfortable, and she was a light." The Academy Award-winning actress also shared her thoughts on the passing of TV legend Walter Cronkite. "He was a giant," she says. "I can't imagine another news man occupying singularly that space that he occupied. Being so trusted. It's hard to believe in our cynical age that all eyes could go to a person in television news and really believe everything he said, and look at him as a credible, unbiased straight-ahead voice." 'Julie & Julia' in theaters August 7, intertwines the lives of two women from different time periods.
