Santiago Segura Biography
Born in Madrid, Santiago Segura started his carrer making his first short movie at the age of fourteen. He studied Arts in Madrid and finally decided to be a film maker. He directed his short film "Relatos de la medianoche" (1989) with only 7000 pts. (about 60 dollars). Then, he appeared as guest in several spanish TV quizes, such as "Locos por la tele" or "No te rías que es peor". With the money made off those appareances, he directed "Evilio" (1992), his first "serious" short film. After this he directed "Perturbado" (1993), winning a Goya for the best short film in 1994. His last short film is the 2nd part of "Evilio", "Evilio vuelve (El purificador)" (1994). He is a big friend of the spanish director Alex de la Iglesia and has been in all of his films, including his last one, "Perdita Durango". He is now preparing his debut as director in "long" films with "Torrente, el brazo tonto de la ley".Trivia
