Graduated from Princeton University in 1998.
At Princeton University, Sam wrote his senior thesis on female mating preferences in the Eastern mosquito fish, which was published in the science journal Current Biology, and graduated with a degree in ecology and evolutionary biology. He also played on the school's baseball team.
