Ryan O'Neal says he's asked his longtime love Farrah Fawcett to marry him and she's agreed. "We will, as soon as she can say yes. ... Maybe we can just nod her head," O'Neal told "20/20" correspondent Barbara Walters of marrying Fawcett, who has been battling cancer. The actors have been dating off and on since the '80s and have a son together named Redmond. "I used to ask her to marry me all the time," he said. "But ... it just got to be a joke, you know. AP - Ryan O'Neal says he plans to marry Farrah Fawcett, who is struggling to overcome cancer.
Ryan O'Neal recently asked Farrah Fawcett to marry him and she agreed, according to ABC News.


HTV was there over the weekend as Ryan O'Neal was spotted out and gave an update on Farrah Fawcett's condition.  When asked how Farrah is doing, Ryan responded: "She's okay. Thank you." He also said he's not sure whether his son Redmond will get another chance to visit his mother.

Redmond O'Neal, the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, has been transferred from a Los Angeles jail to a correctional facility to begin a year-long intensive drug treatment program. "The Insider" has learned that O'Neal, 24, was moved to a Santa Clarita County, Calif. facility on Wednesday. "Apparently a judge wouldn't let him enter private rehab," L.A. sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore tells People.com of the news. "He'll be in this new jail location but will be in a program there designed for addicts to get off drugs." O'Neal, who was seen visiting his ailing mother in her documentary which aired last Friday, has spent nearly one month in the downtown Los Angeles facility. O'Neal was most recently arrested in early April on suspicion of bringing drugs into in the parking lot of a Santa Clarita-area detention center.

Reuters - Redmond O'Neal, the son of actors Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, was admitted to a drug court program on Thursday that should keep him out of jail while his mother struggles with her second bout of cancer.
Amid her battle with cancer, actress Farrah Fawcett is planning a bash for her longtime companion, Ryan O’Neal. Citing Fawcett's friend Alana Stewart, People.com reports that Fawcett will throw a party in honor of O'Neal's 68th birthday on Monday evening. "There will be cake and champagne," Stewart tells the Web site. "Ryan has really been there for Farrah in such a wonderful way." As for the Fawcett's current health condition, Stewart says, "I just saw her last night and she looked better." The actress' friend also adds, "She had color in her face and was talking and laughing." Stewart goes on to tell People.com how Fawcett and O'Neal are dealing with the recent troubles surrounding their son, Redmond O'Neal. "They are hoping for the best outcome for Redmond," says Stewart. "He's not a hardened criminal by any means. He's a kid with a drug problem, who is very much wanting to get sober and have a life. Redmond is a sweet, funny bright kid and he and his mother are very, very close."

Redmond O'Neal, the son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, will remain in police custody without bail, a judge ordered on Friday. The 24-year-old's bail was canceled after he admitted in an L.A. courtroom that he broke the probation terms for a past drug conviction, says the Associated Press. A sentencing hearing will be held next week. Meanwhile, Redmond has been charged with a felony count of bringing drugs onto jail property. He was arrested last Sunday.
