At first it seemed like being the leading lady of a number one franchise would be too much for Kristen Stewart to handle. On her first round of press for Twilight, she appeared intensely nervous. She was photographed smoking a bong and later incurred the wrath of Twihards with some poor choice of words.


Robert Pattinson shares some bizarre stories he has from 'Twilight' press tours with David Letterman, offers his guide to biting people and answers questions as to whether he is in fact dating his onscreen lover Kristen Stewart. Just two days before the theater release of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' on Friday, Nov. 20, Pattinson appeared on the "Late Show" and talked about his chaotic fan base that is out to be bitten by the vampire heartthrob. Pattinson said that one female fan asked him to bite her small child. "Somehow I ended up biting the baby on the head and there was a photo of it afterward," the actor jokes. Pattinson explains to Letterman his decision process when biting a fan, saying, "Depends on your mood and depends on what you want to get out of it. ... There are variations of biting." Letterman attempts to confirm with the actor that he is dating his costar Stewart but Pattinson reacts, "I've been so cryptically avoiding this question throughout the entire press tour." Letterman jokingly responds, "Oh, bite me."

In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, 'New Moon' hunk Rob Pattinson tells all about the day that a fan "frantically started taking her clothes off" for him. He explains the story to Ellen, "It was after a period of signing 500 signatures and one of [the fans] just came up. You kind of get 10 seconds with each person and you never really say anything and I kind of got bored of saying, 'Hey, how are you doing?' And she said in her 10 seconds, 'What can I do to get your attention?' I was like um, 'Just take your clothes off.' And she stood there and frantically started taking her clothes off and got dragged out of the room by security. I never felt more terrible." But while Rob, who goes bare-chested for a scene in 'New Moon,' says he never used to pat himself on the back over his physique, things might be changing. He tells Ellen in the interview set to air Friday: "I saw an interview the other day with a fictitious quote saying that I was proud of my abs. I was like I would never say that in an interview and I actually saw the film yesterday and I was like,'Yeah. This is the first time I've ever been proud of my physical appearance in my entire life...'" Rob also tells Ellen that he'd like to buy a home, preferring a "secret house," but it's hard to go house-hunting when he's being trailed by photographers. Ellen tells Rob, "My favorite thing to do in the world is [to] find houses," and offers to find the perfect home for him. As daytime turned to twilight in Los Angeles, fans littered the streets to catch a glimpse of their worshipped vampires and werewolves. "The Insider"'s Chris Jacobs spoke to the stars of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' to get their reaction to the fan's reception of their rise to super stardom. Robert Pattinson, who attracts tens of thousands of fans wherever he goes, said of all the attention, "It makes you feel like you're doing the right thing." He told Chris fans follow his personal life as well because "they want anything to do with 'Twilight.' People have such an...appetite for it." Relishing in the spotlight, Kristen Stewart reacted to why fans are so keen on her private life, saying, "It's hard for them to tell the difference between us and our characters, which is sort of the ultimate compliment if that is why they're so interested." The toned Taylor Lautner admitted that "it made me blush" when Taylor Swift gave him a shout out in her "Saturday Night Live" monologue. Thankful for the dedicated fans, Taylor said, "We're just doing what we love to do...and all these people are here making our dreams come true." Of stepping into such a media spectacle and fan frenzy, Kellan Lutz said, "They give us presents. We should be giving them presents because they allow us to work and continue on with this amazing project." This vampire craze has taken off because "They're sexy. They're mysterious," he said. Teen, tweens, and teeny-boppers are not alone in their enjoyment of the 'Twilight' series. Stars such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Kennedy, Ryan Seacrest, Emma Roberts, Jennie Garth, Joan Jett, Richie Sambora, and the newly single Julianne Hough twinkled on the red carpet as well. Julianne, who shamelessly admitted that she is on "Team Edward because he;s mysterious and sexy," jokingly added, "I think Rob should just come and take me away." Take a bite out of 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' when it hits theaters on Friday, November 20.
